Shooting house with sliding glass doors8695

izoneguy private msg quote post Address this user
Tomorrow I am shooting a house that has sliding glass doors that lead out to a covered porch and then it has two separate guest rooms not attached to the house. I need to be able to "go-through" the glass door to go the the rooms. Should I even mark the windows if I am also scanning the porch? Or do I just mark them if I don't want to walk through them? Regardless - I think I will capture it both in 3D and 360 mode.

Open the door well before getting to it if you’re going to go out to porch. Treat glass like drywall in this instance. Mark the outside closed part as a mirror if it’s reflecting much outside data. I don’t bother marking windows much.

What would happen if you don’t mark the window since I will be shooting that area that we are seeing beyond the window? Can I do the door remove trick to go through the window. Leaving it open is not an option.

it will build a mesh and you'll be stuck. open the dam door.

If you cannot open it, another option is to go outside using another opening and leaving that area for the end.
I don't know if you understand me: you have to reach that window from inside and them from outside, of course in one moment you need another door or window to reach there.

Here you can find an example we had some time ago (the big door window was closed) but we could finally open it then (the key was there at the house):
