CUPIX 3D Tour Platform versus Matterport 3D Tour Platform DanSmigrod 9 14 daysscott_cupix (211): @vantasy, photoshop makes quick work out of fills. How awesome is content-aware fill in panorama mode of PS CC 2018, am I right? Of course you could also do something a little a like this: http://blog.cupix.com/edit-a-360-photos-in-photoshop/. If your a photoshop junkie then you'll like this little button right here in Cupix: https://i.imgur.com/XByQbkp.jpg That right you can replace the 360 imagery in Cupix with your re-imagined...
Ricoh Theta V Versus Ricoh Theta SC for CUPIX WalterE 8 19 daysWalterE (52): UPDATE: I got the SC yesterday and shipped it back today!! I had a VERY hard time syncing the camera to the app. It was REALLY buggy. I have read reports of the app being really buggy to the SC since the updates came in for the V. I was also not that impressed with the image quality. I won't be using this on professional shoots, It is just a tester before I drop $2000 on a Nikon D610 & Sigma 8mm. As a new startup I really need to keep costs...

You can buy a rotator directly from iStaging or theVRkit (same rotator, except branded iStaging). In the WGAN-TV show above, I interview the founder of Dermandar (theVRkit) Elie-Grégoire Khoury...

( More 360º 1-click Cameras) These two options make for super-easy workflow capture. The CUPIX video above shows how to do...
CUPIX Versus Matterport in AEC Space DanSmigrod 16 1 monthDavidHothersall (55): @DanSmigrod As I suggested I doubt Matterport would be interested in releasing the higher level data assuming it exists. I wonder if Chris @Metroplex360 has done a comparison with a Matterport and a Leica BLK pointcloud of similar spaces to ascertain if there is more data in the BLK? I did a couple of quick tests with Cupix using some previously acquired data from a Matterport scan of what I considered a simple space but it was apparent from...
Matterport Versus CUPIX: Publishing a 3D Tour to Google Street View DanSmigrod 5 1 monthDanSmigrod (16105): @TrustedPhotoDC Another differentiator between CUPIX and Matterport is that you likely can successfully moderator a CUPIX-->Google Street View Tour with the links that YOU want. As @scott@cupix pointed out (above): A WGAN Member emailed me: "Matterport Spaces have always generated a list of 'nearest neighbors' that Showcase uses. Showcase will calculate the distance to each nearest neighbor upon entering a scan and use...
Quality vs Turnaround time fotoguy 5 2 monthsDanSmigrod (16105): @fotoguy My impression is that Matterport could speed up processing time by paying Amazon Cloud more money. If Matterport offered an option for one hour turnaround (if that is technically doable), how much would you pay extra when in a pinch (and could you charge your Clients more)? While PhotoAndVideoEdits.com requires a subscription: 1. All your credits roll-over each month: no penality 2. You can easily change and pick the number of...
Video: CUPIX: 10 Tips For BETTER Tours DanSmigrod 4 3 monthsHome3D (112): Since Matterport measures its environment using infrared, it cannot do so in direct sunlight. Exteriors can only be scanned at dusk, dawn, or very cloudy weather. Cupid uses photogrammetry to divine spatial relationships so lighting doesn’t matter.

Solutions for Scanning Large Box Stores DanSmigrod 5 6 monthsleonvanzweel (388): @VTLV It is not about the tool. It is about using the right tool for a specific outcome. Most people's technological knowledge is rather limited. When the question comes up I explain that a small footprint is critical to capture 360 one-shot spherical images. I can use bigger cameras with multiple shots and stitch the images together, but that will cost them a lot more. The Theta/Cupix solution works well in a low-cost environment, where...
Matterport versus iStaging DanSmigrod 2 6 monthsDanSmigrod (16105): P.P.S. I received this nice note back from [redacted] when I asked how s/he knew about my past life ... 3D or 360° - What's the Difference LMTLESS 3 7 monthsadvancedhdr (217): Lmtless, MP is a 3D camera with 360 capabilities. You use the 360 mostly for external shots with much sunlight, the 3D is for inside without sunlight. 3D cameras do not like direct sun as the IR sensors (lasers) can't beam thru to record spacial data. With Google Street View, you would upload as 360 for GSV. I too am a newbie, hope this helps.
photos: MP vs Nikon D810 HarlanHambright 10 8 monthsMetroplex360 (8266): @HarlanHambright While I cannot confirm this, I think that the Matterport Camera does do 5 exposures... just not sure on what the intervals are. Of course, I would suspect that the sensor is by no means comparable to a DSLR - but is quite capable in its own right. @NestorSarmiento It's one of those use-case things. For a Realtor who might not own a DSLR, the Matterport is a single device that can produce photos that are automatically HDR. ...

Finally a Potential Matterport Competitor! yoon2366 20 2 yearsUserName (586): @Mori I look forward to your thoughts on Daydream Street View. That's one reason I thought about buying a Daydream phone. Maybe you could compare moving around inside a Matterport VR model to using your controller to move around inside a Daydream home. From the Daydream Street View videos, it seems like you simply use the Daydream controller like a laser pointer to move around your environment. Here are some screenshots I took from inside...
ICSF16: InsideMaps 3D/VR/Photos v Matterport DanSmigrod 30 2 yearsHelen (754): @JonJ Thanks Jon on their website the 3D pack is 49.95 I was wondering if that included the model. With the pricing you shared it would not. It would be another $40. As I am in Canada add on about an 30% exchange to that pricing it becomes very expensive! I think I would have to charge more for that than I do for Matterport. I would like to offer the service along with the other service's I offer but I am not sure if I had to pay extra for the...
