Question of the Day: which drone do you recommend for a newbie? DanSmigrod 4 3 monthsMetroplex360 (8536): As a newbie with some pretty nice drone photos from my past six months, I'm pretty bullish on the DJI Mavic. What are people using for External 3d reinspimg 7 7 monthslauks (13): I do not think its crazy, I fully support this idea.I only see that MP is relying mostly on structured light to create the mesh, not photogrammetry. I am not sure they have all the resources to do it, as it is a totally different domain. Months ago I spoke with guys of Zephyr that they should get in touch with MP. But MP wasn't interested. Either they don't get the importance, or they have a plan B :-) Cheers Luc
Do you auto pilot your drones? Metroplex360 12 7 monthsmori (589): Is there a recommended Drone-SDK for e.g. flight path generation available which could also take advantage of realtime image recognition during the capture process? And has anyone already experimented with attaching a LIDAR device to a drone?
What iPad Models are good for drone control? ParkPrince 3 7 monthschermle (1): Hi, I've been using an ipad air 2 for about a year. It's probably the largest one you can fit into the controller cradle. I use the same thing for Matterport scans. Regardless of what you buy, I would strongly suggest you purchace a sunshade for the monitor. Viewing the monitor on bright days can be really tough. The shade probably won't resolve the viewing problems, but it'll help. I think you can get them for around $15. USD
Skydio R1 "self-flying camera" Drone Review DanSmigrod 2 8 monthsadvancedhdr (217): Technology doesn't come cheap.. Watching the video, this is a fantastic solution for autonomous drone, " Follow Me " mode.. I have owned a Inspire 1, and three Mavic Pro's and others.. there IS a place for this fully autonomous drone, eg. flying inside a cave while its following you, or between buildings whereas the Mavic Pro, Air any drone will collide. PERFECT for wedding! But, who need a follow me drone? Seriously... Not for...

I had tried video backgrounds on my site before but it was hosted on GoDaddy at the time and load time was way to slow. I do use an Inspire 1 for video though. We have 2 Inspire 1's with regular Zemuse x3 cameras, a Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K, and a Parrot Bebop 2. We have used the...
