Video: 10 Unique Features of the DJI Inspire 2 DanSmigrod 3 15 daysJwbuckl (36): The low light capabilities of the Inspire 2's optional X5s and X7 cameras are far and away better than that of any of the other DJI offerings. The X5s is a micro 4/3rds sensor and the X7 is a Super 35 sensor. You can (and I have) film Hollywood films with this drone. The Inspire 2 is likely overkill for most real estate photography/videography and besides, it grabs an audience in the sky when maybe you don't really want to draw too much...

The jobs I have mentioned can only be done breaking some rules. Some are deneatelly in no fly zone being 2kms from Brisbane City(planes fly paths, hospital helipads around) and those that may be lucky to be in a fly zone in metro area are still breaking other rules(no flying in highly built in residential area or above people). Drone Mapping CFster 4 2 monthsWingman (285): There is nothing to navigate with in a 3d mapped model. It is just a 3D model and there is no way to walk through it. It can be used in architecture and 3d design and it also provides volumetric measurements of anything captured. Technically you can measure a pile of dirt on a ground that will help your customer to estimate how much trucks they need to move it from a site. And it is different from Matterport as in 3D mapping GPS coordinates...
How to use a pole for an "aerial" shot in lieu of a Drone or No Fly Zone DanSmigrod 4 2 monthsWingman (285): I cannot see how you can picture something big with a pole. May be a better solution is to buy a tethering system or a drone that already comes with it. Tethering systems are usually a quite simple device but I know some company that asks $10 000. It comes with supplying power for a drone though so you can stay in the air for hours. But I have seen a relatively inexpensive drone that comes with it. Try youtube to find it. I cannot recall...

Demo and Discussion: GeoCV versus Matterport DanSmigrod 2 2 monthsMetroplex360 (9113): GeoCV is a bit too bright and saturated. Matterport is a bit too dark and undersaturated. Nodal View is yellow and has an old fashioned UI with a strangely placed spinning dollhouse (how did that get there?) There's no perfect one, but between the two 3D tours -- with GeoCV, you have the option to download your imagery. If you wanted to, you could darken the tour a bit and desaturate it and end up with something pretty spot on.
DJI Introduces DJI Terra To Capture, Visualize And Analyze Drone 2D/3D Data DanSmigrod 5 2 monthsizoneguy (281): Yeah, I have been on mac since 2006. Got tired of the BSOD and re-building hard drives. Maybe PC's don't do that anymore? LOL
Pix4D versus DroneDeploy DanSmigrod 6 2 monthsWingman (285): Pix4d has a capture app that can make an orbiting fly path around a property but it may be better just to do it manually. And to do it manually there is no need in any of these apps. I agree with FunN4Lo these apps and services mostly for 3d mapping with drones and they are not cheap. What are people using for External 3d reinspimg 7 1 yearlauks (19): I do not think its crazy, I fully support this idea.I only see that MP is relying mostly on structured light to create the mesh, not photogrammetry. I am not sure they have all the resources to do it, as it is a totally different domain. Months ago I spoke with guys of Zephyr that they should get in touch with MP. But MP wasn't interested. Either they don't get the importance, or they have a plan B :-) Cheers Luc
Do you auto pilot your drones? Metroplex360 12 1 yearmori (704): Is there a recommended Drone-SDK for e.g. flight path generation available which could also take advantage of realtime image recognition during the capture process? What iPad Models are good for drone control? ParkPrince 3 1 yearchermle (1): Hi, I've been using an ipad air 2 for about a year. It's probably the largest one you can fit into the controller cradle. I use the same thing for Matterport scans. Regardless of what you buy, I would strongly suggest you purchace a sunshade for the monitor. Viewing the monitor on bright days can be really tough. The shade probably won't resolve the viewing problems, but it'll help. I think you can get them for around $15. USD
