Brain Teaser: Converting Matterport Outdoor 3D Views to 3D Scans? DanSmigrod 10 9 monthsWingman (1312): Tried it now in full sunlight and I could not scan at all. It seems it can work somehow with clouds covering the Sun but once it is out and shining it won't work. With clouds though just keep looking at a minimap in Capture and make sure your next scan data is going to overlap data from any of the previous scans. If there is no Sun you should have about 2-3m of data placed around each scan(can be more if it is really cloudy) so you next...
Brain Teaser: What would you do differently? DanSmigrod 8 2 years3SixtyNow (417): It's not as easy as 1, 2, 3. They oversimplify the process, a bit misleading in my book.
Brain Teaser: Why 4 Floors When Only 2? DanSmigrod 8 3 yearsDanSmigrod (22062): @htimsabbub23 Yes. You're on the money! For clarification, I raised the camera to the highest setting on the trip to help "reach" the duck work. I lowered the camera to its lowest setting to scan under some tables and some VR Viewers in "cubby holes" ... Now imagine that I did 50 scans on the 1st level and 50 scans on the loft level and now wanted to add 50 scans to each level. BUT, how would I know where I scanned, since...
HDR BackUp Q Outside Matterport Services VTLV 3 3 yearsHarlanHambright (1709): 1. It is redundant to shoot RAW for HDR. Except for tweaking color temp, the HDR process is giving you as much dynamic range that RAW will, so shooting in-camera JPEG will alleviate a lot of storage issues. And you can color correct a jpeg just as easily. 2. After you have processed your HDR files, you can delete the original camera files. I have only on a few occasions re-processed old camera files and that was because early HDR was pretty...
Brain Teaser: Scanning 1 Floor as 3 Floors? DanSmigrod 9 3 yearsArtisticConcepts (656): 1. Tours will be viewed in VR and you are accommodating for viewer perspective options (taking into consideration special needs and children). (See also: Request for Matterport Pro "no later than April 10th" for Furniture Showroom" ) 2. Each floor would represent a different scan height (or viewer perspective). 3. There is matching scan data (which would be needed even if there were actually three floors) so you get...
