How to Backup Your Matterport Spaces on iPad DanSmigrod 30 26 daysKumar (101): @Wingman, it has already there in place. iMazing, iexplorer are couple i know of. As a user I am uncomfortable with reliability point of view. And from RJ's webinar on facebook you can sense this is the way forward for MP. They are looking at platform game with inviting third party developers than doing in house. While building an eco-system is all well, I feel sad to see the OEM not delivering on basic features directly.
Restoring a backup to ipad reverted capture app to old version?? BrianAshley 2 16 daysDanSmigrod (17766): @BrianAshley Can you let us know what Matterport Support says? I'm not sure if the Matterport 3D Tours are stored within the app or stored elsewhere. So, before you delete the Matterport Capture app, seems like you would want to hear from Matterport Support (to be sure). Thanks, Dan
Deleted job still exist on iPad - is it possible ? xiarosh 9 22 daysxiarosh (10): In general, you are right. Except 'text file' . Capture is using SQL-Lite database , where is storing all info about JOBs , your marked features in jobs, uploads info etc.. You can not easily remove or add info about a job to a database if you dont know its structure and fields' destine. We need a person who can create an application for iPad.
Question of the Day: What do you do when you run out of space on your iPad? DanSmigrod 3 5 monthsChemistrydoc (837): I do "The Smigrod" - back up iPad to iCloud, wipe the iPad, then link the iPad to a new email address (and new iCloud account). Keith
Approaching Matterport Hosting Limit Warning Email DanSmigrod 6 8 monthsGeorge_WALKINTOUR (85): Oi Vey, don't mention this one. I think we're past the 1000 model mark here. Lol George
CNET: iPad 2018 vs iPad Pro: Which to Buy? DanSmigrod 1 10 monthsDanSmigrod (17766): Hi All, If you plan to buy an iPad, you are likely comparing various options. This CNET article may be helpful to you: CNET (16 May 2018) iPad 2018 vs. iPad Pro: Which should you buy? My thoughts: 1. Get the largest capacity that you can afford - After 4 years, Matterport still does not offer a cloud backup and restore solution. (Deleting models to make room is NOT a good idea.) 2. Weight and Size Matters - keep in mind that...
IPad is full Wonderdawg 11 10 monthsWonderdawg (228): Thanks all for the responses. Once I delete the models, I no longer have access via My Matterport and the ability to view statistics. It’s a bit disconcerting as I’m so use to keeping my raw files, finished jpegs and catalogs of images via Lightroom and Photoshop intact on multiple hard drives and the cloud such as Dropbox, Google Drive, BackBlaze, Crashplan and the old images on iPhoto. I ended up buying a new iPad with 128; the previous...
Dear Matterport: About Your Pricing Plans DanSmigrod 16 10 monthsBycha (49): Does anyone know the price of MP Cloud-Only plans?
Can you duplicate model in workshop? Queen_City_3D 5 1 yearDanSmigrod (17766): @Queen_City_3D Seems like an up-sell opportunity, especially since the model needs to continued to be hosted? (Or, are you enabling them to download on their iPad?) Since I started with Matterport - July 2014 – I do not (believe) that you could ever duplicate a Matterport Spaces 3D tour in Workshop. Yes. Seems obvious that the backup/restore/duplicate/editing should be enabled in Matterport Workshop. You might add that to your wish list...
Video Message: Matterport Product Dev Team DanSmigrod 1 1 yearDanSmigrod (17766): Video: 1:56:05 How to Backup Matterport Spaces | 1:59:55 Message for Matterport Product Development Team from Dan Smigrod -- Dear Matterport, Please add a backup/restore solution to your New Year's resolutions for 2018. Will IOS 11 be "Monumental" for Backups? VTLV 2 2 yearsRadie842 (238): I have 2 iPads and I put 11 on o e 2 months ago and have been using it. Seems to have no issues yet. I did do a backup before the download just Incase.
Any news on a back-up solution? Wanderfish360 6 2 yearsTrustedPhotoDC (1052): Some insight into High Sierra and how iCloud and iOS Files could make backup and sharing of Matterport scans very simple. Better iCloud file sharing: Files saved to iCloud Drive can be shared with other people for collaborative work. Everyone sees the same document and will always get the latest version with any edits and changes. “Compatible” third-party apps can also work on iCloud Drive files and the document is still kept up to date....
HDR BackUp Q Outside Matterport Services VTLV 3 2 yearsHarlanHambright (1471): 1. It is redundant to shoot RAW for HDR. Except for tweaking color temp, the HDR process is giving you as much dynamic range that RAW will, so shooting in-camera JPEG will alleviate a lot of storage issues. And you can color correct a jpeg just as easily. 2. After you have processed your HDR files, you can delete the original camera files. I have only on a few occasions re-processed old camera files and that was because early HDR was pretty...
