Controlling 3D model with Leap Motion918

Here is a quick experiment of using a Leap Motion sensor to control a 3D Showcase model.

From the Leap Motion app store I downloaded an app called Air Input, which mapped some of my gestures to actions like mouse click and drag & drop.

Then I launched Showcase and played with one of my models.
I was hoping for a more precise control, but the technology needs to evolve a bit more before turning this into Hollywood-grade interactivity.

Have to agree, looks very cool. Reminds me of Mickey Mouse in Fantasia. Amazing how tech catches up with things dreamed up in the past.

@Tosolini That's great.

I always your innovative thinking meets Matterport. Thanks for sharing.

I can image that the next TV we buy includes voice and jester controls ...

Best,

Dan

I'd forgotten this existed. It received lukewarm response when it first came to market for being glitchy. Has it been improved since then?

@mikesobay My experience with Leap Motion has not been extremely positive so far. There is a lot of room for improvement, and I can appreciate the difficulties behind perfect hand gesture recognition.

@dansmigrod Voice recognition and Matterport! You game me an idea :-)
