...do you compensate for incoming light so you don't have blown out windows? I am still trying to perfect my teaser videos for my properties, and a videographer who is way more experienced than me suggested to push up the ISO to lighten up the indoor spaces and to ignore the windows. This is my first time of trying that - http://fortmyerspowerteam.com/10276-templeton-lane-fort-myers/ (scroll down for the video) - but I'm more sure about the end result. I kind of figure it's better to compensate for window light while shooting and correct the brightness in post. Would appreciate the thoughts of others doing real estate video. Thanks |

I expose largely for indoors, with slight tilt to outside depending upon the illumination difference. If I were recording raw format I would tilt further as the files would capture greater dynamic range to recover, but I’m uduslly doing mp4 for budget reasons. I’ve recently shot bracketed motion shots on a slider bar and stacked them achieving improved results. As this is with a manual non- motorized slide it’s an interesting process, but I’ll be happy to explain if you’re adventurous. Obviously won’t work without at least a slider or locked off, which would be silly unless the subject had positionally static motion such as a fountain. | ||

We tend to put as much motion as we possibly can (e.g. fans, television, candles, etc.) normally so it doesn't look like an image slideshow. So you saying your doing your static video shots doing HDR? That's interesting. I was going to try and use SLOG2 or 3 as I'm told they have a high dynamic range than other profiles, but I've not tried that as yet. Thanks for your response by the way! |
