Hi All,

The WGAN Forum Question of the Day is:

How have you modified Matterport Camera or Tripod?

This question is inspired by this WGAN Forum discussion in a related WGAN Forum post:

I just wrap the end of the chain around the leg of my Manfrotto tripod and its set for the right spread to keep it out of my shot. I use this for stills and 360 videos. I away or I would have included a photo of the chain setup.

I’m interested in a solution to keep the legs spread on my tripod when I’m moving it. One always seems to move a little, so when I set it down it’s a little cockeyed and I have to level it again. Sort of like the spreaders found on video tripods. Maybe so I can fix the legs at a narrower than normal footprint, so I can carry it through doorways easily. I use one of my little light stands with my Theta, and it works like a charm. Need to use the big tripod for DSLR and pano head though...

Interesting! Didn’t know they had universal ones. Wonder if the wheels come off. Looks like the bars are one length. I see there are others. Maybe there’s one that the width of the whole thing can be adjusted.

@CFster

This one looks like it has a smaller footprint. If you get it, please let us know if the wheels come off.

Seems like someone must have invented a tri-shape bracket that adjusts to the location within the tripod where you would like to control the legs, as you described.

Best,

Dan
