Transfer Ownership of 360º Photos to Client?6706

Screen Grab: Google Street View Trusted Newsletter April 2018

Hi All,

Google encourages photographers to transfer ownership rights to the business to help move the business up in search. ("Doing this is likely to improve the visibility of your images since they would appear in the ‘By Owner’ tab on Google Maps," according to Google.)

I do not encourage this rights transfer if you want to build a business on monthly recurring revenue. For example, imagine that you would shoot a business space for $1,000 and transfer rights, or, shoot a the same business space for 499 plus $49 monthly for hosting, support and maintenance. After 11 months, you made the SAME amount. Plus, going forward you have an annuity of $49 monthly. Which business model do you prefer?

Please see the Google Street View Trusted Newsletter (above, April 2018) and in Local Guides Connect on 21 March 2018 (below).

While the norm may be to charge a flat fee for Google Street View Tours, you need to zig while others zag.

I don't encourage this if you ever might need to update the tour as you won't be able to. I also have had tours break and lose connections in the past by doing this.
