Hey Dan,

I noticed you and some members write about scanning hotel rooms, and getting the room comped - and then in some cases being hired to scan the rest of the hotel!

I'm curious exactly how that works?

What is your approach? Do you speak with someone (manager) at the local hotel, or do you need to contact the head office? I'm guessing you've got the room scanned and processed before you speak with them, and show them the model on the ipad?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Our success in regards to this was taking a scan of a room we were staying in and then the next morning after it had processed showing it to the front end staff and asking to speak to a manager. In our case the manager wasn't there at the time but I got a business card and sent the model to him explaining that we took the liberty of scanning the room because we thought it might be something they'd be interested in using for their marketing. I told him we'd be heading back that way and that we'd be willing to trade the use of the model for their marketing purposes in exchange for a complimentary stay on the way back. They were enamored with the 3D model and we ended up scanning 9 different room types for them.
