@Exceed94

Once you publish 50 Google approved 360º photo spheres, you will be invited to apply to get the Google Street View Trusted badge.

You could quality with one Matterport 3D Tour - with at least 50 scans (scans = 360º photo spheres) published to Google Street View

How cool is that!

BTW, the "apply" asks a few tactical questions: name/company/location/phone/website: there's no college essay.

When you publish to Google Street View with Matterport, be sure to pick the email address that you would like to be associated with Google. (It does not need to be a gmail account.)

How cool is that!!!!

Today (1 February 2018) there are 13,000+ photographers that have earned the badge, Google Street View Trusted.

Soon, thousands of Matterport Pros like you will qualify.

I'm surprised Matterport has not played up this point in their Matterport to Google Street View publishing marketing

Best,

Dan

@Exceed94 you can use whatever you want as long as you produce 360 images with acceptable quality and according to the Google Street View minimum requirements (you can check for this in the Internet).

Since last year, anyone can become a trusted Google photographer by submitting 50 photospheres.

The photospheres can be linked (I mean, as a virtual tour) or simply individual isolated 360s taken from the street. But take into consideration that each photosphere has to be related to a specific place that must be individualized by business or place name and address. It can be a plaza, a train station, etc. No need to be a private shop.

I tired searching for the GTP application form but everything so convoluted.

Is there a direct link somewhere?

One source said Google will just let you know when you have reached GTP status. Ha! I don't see that happening all too fast.

Dear all,

I would like to know if it is possible to offer the stores the virtual tour of Google Street View, without being a professional photographer or even been referenced on Google. Simply using Matterport camera and its interface.

All best

Yes you can. The Trusted status is no longer a requirement and you can start offering your services without previous qualifications.

If you are going to use your own 360 camera or stitched images, you will have to use one of the approved platforms like Panoskin or Gothru, and if you are using Matterport GSV service, you can do it automatically.

I am not sure if you will need a gmail account for this purpose. It was a requirement in the past but nowadays I am not completely sure (you will have to check it on the web or wait for someone else to answer this thread).

As I started as a Trusted Photographer following the certification process originally imposed by Google, I am not quite sure about the current procedures, but I believe that it is as simple as following the instructions from Panoskin, Gothru or Matterport to GSV.
