[R&D] Matterport + Vuforia = AR5592

As we keep exploring ways to use augmented reality for business, we developed this demo that combines the OBJ file from Matterport with a simple tracking image (which could be your business card).

There are various tools out there that can accomplish something similar (e.g. http://augment.com). We decided to build it in Unity, and using the Vuforia tracking plugin to recognize the image. We then added interactive elements to the experience, to better explain the layout of the real environment.

Full credits to our UX designer Amber Fusaro.

Another great example of the importance to continually innovate & potentially venture into other Products / Services or Industries.

We all know that following the obvious e.g. standalone Matterport Tours / one sector i.e. Real Estate etc. is likely the road to nowhere.

Good luck in finding that big winner on your journey which helps businesses differentiate.

@bale100 I agree that we need to find new value in mashing up technologies in novel ways.
