NCTech LASiris VR 3D Reality Capture Camera, ColourCloud Software and Hosting Platform (OneStopVR.com)

Hi All,

The NCTech LASirs VR is one cool Camera + LiDAD scanner.

I got to chat with the NCTech team about this camera that mashes up the point cloud with the pano photography to create a color point cloud (that's important for visualization).

The specs are pretty cool for the quality of the photography and LiDAR scanning data and it works with 1-touch of the Camera.

As I describe in the video, it sounds like MAGIC!

While $13,000 might sound like a lot for those of us that bought a Matterport Camera, the price is actually amazing when compared to LiDAR scanners that cost $40,000+ ...

This camera will democratize 3D scanning in the visualization space that doesn't require the accuracy of a $40,000 solution.

While you wouldn't buy this camera as a solution for Google Street View capture, that's a plus, when you buy it for other use cases.

This is a very interesting solution for larger spaces where the point cloud capture matters.

With the NCTech Hosting Platform - OneStopVR.com - many exciting possibilities are coming soon. The platform is open. So, you can publish the photography and point cloud from the LASiris VR - or other camera/scanner solutions - to the platform.

The NCTech LASiris VR – with a price point of $13,000 – will open up new possibilities that were previously cost prohibitive.

I could imagine that if you get one project that justifies the purchase, you will find a ton of other business use case opportunities.

Some of the most likely use cases will be uses that even NCTech team hasn't even imagined. When you put a tool like this in the hands of a Pro, magic will happen.

Take a look at the videos and let us know what you think.

Best,

Dan

Ok. I looked at both of these. It has produced more questions than answers.

the 360 video loop in the background was cool but I'd like to see more examples of a deliverable product.

Did I get this right? $13k and that's is? No monthly subscription, per project cost? Once I pay, I just collect?

I really need to get caught up on everything.
