For those who are using Android capture, I'm curious if the model backups are any easier?

I assume Android devices can use memory cards and it would be great if models could simply be saved to a memory card and when that was full just pop in a new one.

Is this an option?

I am more than sure it is easier. If you select save as it should let you to navigate to SD card storage using your device file system.

Have you used this process? I'm all for getting an android device for scanning if I can save the scans to an SD card.. Would be so much easier than the present back up options.

No, I do not have a phone that is compatible with the android app. However if it is the same interface as on an Ipad/Iphone and it is handled through Android system every time you want to save something as "save as" it opens available folders list and you can choose it to save anywhere you want including a memory card.

I have had success to back up jobs from my Ipad though using the same export feature. You just need a USB cable to connect an iPad to a PC and iTunes.
When I export I choose to save as in folder storage for Pages app. And then when it is archived I connect my iPad to my windows PC and start iTunes.

When you do it you are asked for authorization for iTunes to access your iPad which you just need to confirm on your iPad screen. Then your iPad will be shown in iTunes and if you right click on it and select something like "explore" it will show all folders you can access including the one for the Pages app. If you click on the Pages name you will see your archived jobs straight away and you can copy them with right click and paste them in any folder on PC where you want to store your archived jobs.

I can confirm you can save an exported job on a SD card with the Android Capture app. You just need to navigate to your SD card by pressing three lines menu at the top left corner and selecting it as a destination for your exported job zipped file.

Which Android device are you using for capture? Is it a phone or a tablet? Thanks!

I have found that the best value for money will be a used Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus. I got one in almost brand new condition for AU$575

I have been hoping to get Samsung Fold(1st generation) just for its big 7" screen when unfolded but it is $400 more for used and they are usually in bad condition even for that price.

As far as I know that these two are only two from older models that come with 12GB of RAM.
