Despite the advances in drone tech we must remain humble to nature. My recent film presents the hazards. No autonomous robot will out think nature. She was just protecting her nest. Whatever your TopGun Matterport drone status is - be warned. London / Russian Embassy / Helicopters = no problem. Seagulls! I doubt Leica can outsmart birds of prey. Sadly these birds have been forced in to cities due to lack of fish in their natural habitat. Our seas are over fished. Seagulls now scramble like foxes through bins and waste. Gone are the days we can sit on the English coast and enjoy an ice cream without the fear of a seagull sweeping like a dive bomber and pinching it. They have no fear. Would you risk a flying camera near her? |

Sadly I had a seagull encounter with my old DJI Phantom several years ago... neither survived the incident. Seagull swept in from out of nowhere and it was over in milliseconds. | ||

My friend uses his drone for aerial videos a lot and he says birds are attacking it all the time. He has shared the following picture with me. This magpie has decided to attack it while caring a poor bearded dragon lizard. |
