About the Role: Matterport is looking for a Developer Relations Engineer to win the hearts and minds of our developers and accelerate the growth of our developer ecosystem. You will work with innovative developers across the globe and play a pivotal role in ensuring their long-term success in building 3D applications on top of our powerful platform using our suite of APIs and SDKs. What you will do: ✓ As a developer relations engineer, you will build tools and resources to get the Matterport developer community excited and drive the adoption of the Matterport platform. Externally, you will engage developers through support channels, developer forums, community events to help evangelize developer tools and troubleshoot, triage, debug technical problems encountered by developers. Internally, you'll work with product and engineering teams to improve outcomes by conveying feedback from developers, reviewing and contributing to API & SDK resources, writing production-ready example code, and testing new features. ✓ Be an expert on the Matterport API & SDK capabilities and help developers, partners, customers of all sizes and expertise leverage the power of our developer tools. ✓ Monitor developer forums, community, support channels and proactively support developers to troubleshoot and debug technical problems. ✓ Create examples, sample apps, templates, demos ✓ Identify and implement code for tutorials that will exemplify how to best use the Matterport API & SDKs. ✓ Contribute technical expertise to technical documentation and articles ✓ Contribute technical expertise to external presentations, trainings, meetups and conferences ✓ Collect and distill feedback from developers to improve the platform. Who you are: ✓ BS in computer science or equivalent experience ✓ 3+ years of experience in an end-user focused role such as developer advocacy, technical support or technical community management. ✓ 2+ years of experience as a developer or software engineer across any relevant discipline, including developing for a platform, media channels/app development, or related fields. ✓ Strong troubleshooting skills and experience explaining technical concepts to a wide variety of internal and external audience ✓ Experience guiding and growing a community where you were a key factor in driving developer engagement and satisfaction ✓ Strong verbal communication and writing skills. ✓ Experience moderating technical forums, presenting in webinars and meetups, blogging, and writing technical articles. ✓ Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders like Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success ✓ Bonus: Experience in AR/VR, Unity, or Unreal platforms as a developer or technical support engineer ✓ Curious problem solver and lifelong learner We want to hear from you! Why is this job opening being advertised?!

The obvious choice is MPEmbed Founder/Developer Chris Hickman (@Metroplex360) and Founder of Metroplex 360 (and whom was using the Matterport API well before Matterport was using it!

(And, showing us what was possible (even before it was officially possible.) Remember Matterport to Google Street View? Removing objects from Matterport tours? Etc.

Matterport should be sending a private jet to Texas to pick up Chris and wine/dine/recruit him for this opportunity that is a perfect fit!
