Hello all,

I've been lurking on this forum for a few months now in preparation for adding this service to my business. I completed my first space this week and I'm open for feedback as I respect the members of this community.

307boulder.thebiggerpicture.tours

I'll start: my main gripe is how the decks look in dollhouse and floorplan views. I could only scan so far out and still avoid direct sunlight. The fact that I could do any outdoor scans at all was a nice feature for this property. I considered trimming the model tighter but was torn as to how it would look in these views with part of the deck(s) cut off. Now, if I decide to trim and reupload/reprocess, does matterport take down the current published model? Do I have to hide unwanted scan points and establish the starting point again?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi @thebiggerpicture,

Overall, great scan.

I would agree, it would get to me also but you did the best you could with the lighting. In fact, I think you did a great job of getting the scans you could considering the lighting.

I will be interested to hear the rest of the community on how tight you should have/could have trimmed on the deck.

You could duplicate it and run it as a test to see what happens? I'm not sure, would defer to the more experienced, but try to trim the area you're speaking to and reupload. If it doesn't give you what you're looking for visually, go back in and remove the trim and reupload.

Hope this helps

It looks like you did an excellent job under difficult lighting conditions.

May I ask what tripod you are using? I noticed that your tripod feet do not appear in the scan,

Keep up the great work.

Best,

@danmorell thanks for the feedback. I'm hesitant to make any changes until I can be confident that it won't disrupt the current published model.

@suncoastskyview I'm using the Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 but I'm only extending 3 of the 4 sections and raising the middle post up where the camera sits at about 5.5 feet.
