iPhone 12 vs iPad Pro for Capture13590

Andy17 private msg quote post Address this user
I'm running Capture on a 2020 iphone SE and it's just about as fast as a last generation iPad Pro, I think. Way faster than an iPad Mini 4. I'm curious if anyone's done the comparison between the iphone 12 with the A14 chip and the current iPad Pros with the A12Z. The benchmarks look pretty good, but I'm curious about alignment times for real world. BTW, I'm mostly using a Z1, but have access to a Pro2.

Somebody has done it at

From what I see there A14 processor on Iphone 12 is bit faster in frequency but it is 6 core vs 8 cores for A12Z on Ipad Pro.
And unless you are going for an Iphone 12 Pro a regular Iphone 12 has only 4 GB of ram while Ipad Pro comes with 6GB.

Slightly faster processor with less cores probably won't be any faster(in fact they say Ipad Pro is 15% faster) and on top of that extra 2GB of Ram can make a difference for an alignment speed.

Anyway if you look at benchmark for Multi-Core at the end it seems Ipad Pro 2020 beats both Iphone 12 and Iphone 12 Pro
