I know it's difficult but probably not impossible, does anyone have any advice for scanning here when you can only go down a mouse ladder

Scan #1 3' away from bottom of ladder. Scan #2 near bottom with tripod as high as it will go.
Now go get some chairs or boxes, like 3' worth and stack your tripod on that. Have you penetrated the opening yet? After you have, scan fairly close to the opening upstairs with tripod as low as it will go. I've scanned some precarious stairs, but there was always some width to the steps that would accommodate a tripod foot.

Or make a deep link and have done with it.

Harlan,
I have never been in that situation but...thanks so much for sharing your experience with all of us.

Harlan,

I was in a similar situation but in a very narrow and steep stairway.
What I did was to stabilise 2 feet of the tripod on one stair and hold the last one with my hand. On post-production, I hid the scans where I appeared.

In your case though, I would tinker 2 curtain rods - 2 different height - so I could attach the clamp on one end. Hold this monopod while scanning. Repeat the procedure with the other rod. Try to get a rod that would stand halfway to the upper floor.
In post-production, hide/delete the unneeded scans and use a linked tag to go upstairs.

Let us know !

You could try using an extension (pole) on the tripod.

Hi @808virtually @HarlanHambright,

Sorry for not answering earlier but I have had to delay this tour until now.

I have followed HarlanHambright's indications ... and it works!

Thanks a lot for your help!
