Hi All,

I could imagine that Matterport C-suite executives will be paying close attention to the interest in an Initial Public Offering (IPO) from AEC digital twin company, Bentley Systems, seeking to raise $200 million.

I wonder if Bentley Systems - much, much bigger than Matterport with 4,000 employees and $700+ million in annual revenue - would be interested in acquiring Matterport?

Your thoughts?

Dan

You got me with your bait click Dan!

Bentley - ustation - hahah that's not a typo. if anyone here is old enough to know 'u' in 'ustation', holler out.

Havent been following Bentley for a long while but I started my journey into 3D with them back in 1994.
Great product. Much better than Autodesk then IMO, but never could overtake Autodesk.
I kinda have the impression though that they are more entrenched in the civil engineering space of the whole AEC disciplines. I might be wrong.

Anyways, if anything, I see them more suitable having a relationship with Cupix than with MP.
Interesting though how high tech 'startups' like MP get more publicity than quiet stalwarts like Bentley.

Non starter for me. Last thing I think we want to see is one of several matterport executives become instant hundred millionaires on a product that we painted on the American landscape, making two to $400 on.
