MuseumsScanning

Largest Space Scanned - Largest Matterport Tour11804

homefinders3d private msg quote post Address this user
I am intrigued by the paywall for tours. I have never scanned a space larger than 5000sqft. I am considering scanning a small museum in the 10-20k sqft range. Is it feasible? Any major obstacles? Any examples.

I searched for large spaces etc. and didn't find anything. I just found the new thread on museums - great info.

Here are WGAN Forum discussions tagged: Large | Museum

I also recommend this free WGAN-TV Training U in Matterport course

That said, WGAN Forum Members will likely have addition thoughts on both scanning large spaces and scanning museums.

@808virtually How long did that take to scan? I am in the process of pitching the idea. I would like to give them an Idea of how much time I would need. I'm just looking for a ballpark idea.

TIA

It took me 3 days to scan. However, I spent a lot of time trying to do it during the day. So, many misalignment issues. And, that was my first year with the camera so a learning curve for sure.

I did this in around a week, it took me that long because the hotel had 100% occupancy. managed to scan the whole place without anyone in the pictures.

This would be a lot easier I am guessing, as it is closed right now.

@elyptic how much do you charge for something like this?

@Apeonpm: Normally something around 0,30Euro per sqm or in "your world" 0,030 Euro per sqft if I converted it right. In this special case a little bit less because of the work they do for schools and children. And I love computer.

@808Virtually

Enjoyed your scan of the club, I noticed that you were able to make it pretty far out in the daylight sun, How was this accomplished? The twilight scans also look really good. Top-notch work.

@JMEPhotos I was pushing the limits of the camera. The person that hired me said to take as long as you need, so I could have spent a week there, if needed. I was a great learning curve with the camera. At the time I shot this was during the lava eruption here, and vog was crazy thick, blocking sunlight as though it was overcast. That helped.

Thanks for the kudos.

@homefinders3d thanks!
