Tunnel inspection with Matterport Pro 2 3D Camera?10802

Hello community!

A new client reached out today asking if it's possible to use the Matterport Pro 2 camera to make an inspection of a tunnel (height around 9 meters / 30 feet)

As I've never tried to scan something like this, I was wondering if anyone of you guys have ever done a model of a tunnel...

I've told them that probably their best bet would be to use the BLK 360 but they'd prefer to see an example done with the Pro 2

Anyone ever attempted to do such a model?

THANKS!

Luca

Nice job on the tunnel. If you get this job and the tunnel has low lighting I would suggest adding a few lights to the top of your camera, I do this in homes that had a fire and have no electricity in it.
Good Luck...Douglas

@Saarikor thanks so much for sharing this, that's a perfect example for low lighting!

@DouglasMeyers that's exactly my main concern... how to manage lighting.. I also have a led light that I use in case of low lighting within homes, but I think in a tunnel it's going to be too weak... we'll see, I'll keep you posted in case I'll make it happen

Thanks y'all!

Here is @DouglasMeyers WGAN Forum post about adding lighting to Matterport:

How to do you attach lighting to the Matterport Camera?

Best,

These are the lights I use for the top of the camera and they sit there without moving and can be positioned to light up one on the floor and one on the upper part of the room i.e ceiling.
