Urgent: MSP needing a camera in Chicago now. Camera stopped working.10310

Hello WGAN,

Anyone in Chicago able to rent out a camera in the next hour? My camera suddenly stopped connecting to the wifi, and I'm in the middle of a job. I have a flight to catch tonight so I'm looking for help asap because it's a big property.

I'm in the Milwaukee area, so I think I'm a little bit too far. But if you absolutely need a quick fix maybe go to Best buy and purchase one of the 360 cameras that work with matterport. And if you're not happy with the quality you can always return it after the job. I'm not sure of the quality.

@9thsensevisuals I had the same problem, I have sent my camera in for a replacement, please tell support about this problem, I think it has something to do with the new firmware .............

@DanSmigrod has anyone else mentioned this recently, this happened to my camera on Friday, in the middle of the shoot would not connect to wifi. Tried different iPads did the same thing.

Yes! I had just updated to the new firmware. Never had this problem before. The camera is connected to the wifi, but when you go into the app, it says "No camera connected". Tried several devices as well as different areas to avoid wifi interference

@9thsensevisuals Yep, Matterport better get onto this, or there will be hundreds of camera's being returned to them. This is no joke to them or especially to us.

Try to "forget" the camera in your Wifi Ipad settings and then try to connect to it again by entering a password. I cannot say if it is going to fix the problem but it is worth trying.

Just what's been reported in this discussion. I accepted the Matterport firmware on Thursday, 17 October 2019 and did not have this problem when I did a scan on Friday.

@alirizacil I worked with Matterport support over the weekend to try everything possible, but unfortunately there was no immediate fix. It seems to be stuck in some odd state though. I saw the same thing happen to one of my other cameras yesterday and nearly had a heart attack. This time, I was able to resolve it by force closing the capture app and restarting the camera.

As far as my other camera, I'm sending it out to matterport for service...definitely a software issue and not a hardware one

@Wingman that does not work either, tried every possible thing. Either way this is a Matterport issue that they need to resolve.
