Copyright again romainreparage 19 5 daysJwbuckl (289): @Changesin3d Please do not misread what I am writing to you. Nowhere do I write that the 360 cameras are either "low quality" or "not commercially viable". I wrote, "The 360 cameras may at first be defined by their comparatively lower cost to the Pro2, but the features, image quality are nothing alike." Quite simply, the 134-megapixel Pro2 camera will outshoot the 14, 18 and 23-megapixel 360 cameras all day long in...
That's my photo! A life lesson in copyrights. immersivespaces Jump to first page38Jump to last page 16 daysDanSmigrod (19131): @GFHoge Glad to hear that you are okay .... As the photographer, you own the copyright of the Matterport 3D Tour and photos, unless you assigned that copyright. What does your local MLS say about photos uploaded to their platform? For the Matterport 3D Tour, you can always disable the tour; not so with photos. Again, glad you are okay. Best, Dan

Does re-use MP tours? fotoguy 4 2 monthsHome3D (1313): @fotoguy - keep in mind that MP tours only exist on MP's servers. If you created the tour, you can simply go into your MP Editor and set the space to "Private". I haven't tried this, but I'll bet it will disappear from or visitors there will simply get a blank screen. This is a perverse benefit of the fact that MP tours cannot be privately hosted. Send a video or your still photos to someone and they "have...

Question of the Day: Do you ever have to do take down requests? DanSmigrod 1 10 monthsDanSmigrod (19131): Hi All, Here is the Question of the Day for Tuesday, 20 November 2018: I just got done completing three - take down requests - Copyright Infringement Notifications via YouTube. Do you ever have to do take down requests? Happy holidays, Dan
Question of the Day>Do your T&C include a lien on the house if not payment? DanSmigrod 4 11 months3dVuz (313): Guy don’t pay me I put a Lein on the side of his head... Brooklyn. Just kidding... or???
Background Music for Videos VTLV 4 1 yearsbl110 (281): You might want to also look at: This site is free. Be sure to view the license guide to make sure the item you select it truly free. This is a pay site. I think it's still $99/year for unlimited downloads. There sound effects and loops available on this site as well. Scott
Copyright Violation - What would you do? pixelray 18 1 yearGlennTremain (1791): How did it work out? Saw this and had me think of this thread @Jasondavidpage 's approach seems very fair and I hope it all worked out.
Listing goes to another broker? Matterport? DanSmigrod 17 1 yearVTLV (1825): I need to re read my terms link on website to better reflect copyright. I wrote up the copyright agreement that needs to go with every invoice. However, most agents could care less about previous agent photos and tend to want new. As if the listing looks old using previous photos or tour. Which must be the reason why the home didn’t sell according to their listing presentation. Lol.
Transfer Ownership of 360º Photos to Client? DanSmigrod 3 1 yearfrstbubble (593): @Metroplex360 Thanks for the advice!
How do you add your copyright info to GSV? 3SixtyNow 4 1 yearTrustedPhotoDC (1108): @3SixtyNow this View shows your attribution as you point out. If you want to see a copyright, then create the embed code. ( three dots next to your attribution name shows the menu.)
Transfer Model Also Transfers Copyright? DanSmigrod 4 2 yearsGerhard (908): @DanSmigrod You beat me to it. So a new week starts again. I don't believe this escaped them at all. They need to find ways to word things differently but still do the same thing. You will also see they don't refer to it anymore as photography lol. Maybe they found a very clever FINE PRINT lawyer on FIVERR and is jumping the loopholes. If this company repeats next week all over again, it will be very worrying. But don't we as the...
Sorry Matterport frstbubble 6 2 yearsMetroplex360 (9206): Revising the TOS to comply with International Law might be a great excuse to fix the things that I think were unnecessary to achieve Matterport's goals. I think that this could have been accomplished without the TOS being amended and without scaring everyone. Matterport have great ideas, just reckless methods to accomplish them that ultimately won't make much of a difference to all of the people who are scared and angry.
Start Promoting Matterport AND Street View? DanSmigrod 4 2 yearsDanSmigrod (19131): @TrustedPhotoDC Great question... I will ask. @TakedaSan Thank you SO much for the detailed explanation and sources. Happy New Year, Dan

Matterport: Personal data and authority DanSmigrod 3 2 yearsdtavres (106): I'm also not a lawyer, but I'm very doubtful that Matterport will ever sue a photographer who: a) Bought a camera for $3,000+, b) Paid for the processing and hosting, c) Took the photos, d) Sold the final product to clients The bad press Matterport would get would likely KILL sales of new cameras, which would also cause a potential buyout from Google/Facebook/etc. to be looked at twice, AND would likely also KILL the market for Real...
Why You Want to Retain the Copyright in MP DanSmigrod 5 2 yearsDanSmigrod (19131): @3dVuz That's a TERRIFIC! question. First, We Get Around curates a Form library. Access is free, when you contribute a Form  ... ✓ 3D/VR/360 Photographers>Sample Forms Library Second, We Get Around does not use a contract between us and our clients, with one exception, where the client provided the Agreement. We only invoice the client after we have delivered everything and they are thrilled. We take the business...
Ever had your creative work stolen? Helen 10 3 yearsNarvan891 (27): "Walk softly and carry a big stick" as Teddy Roosevelt said aptly long ago! I'd try the genial approach first - contact them and let them know that it appears that they've inadvertently used your creative work without getting the required usage license (temporary or permanent at xx$$ - two different price structures of course) and that it would " really great" for them to be sure to cover that immediately and here's...

Ownership of Matterport Models WarrenVandal 4 5 yearsalx3D (715): I talked about this to Paul at MP before purchasing the camera and I would suggest everyone do the same. We own the content we produce but they do not have let us access it unless we pay them. When you scan something it is like taking a picture. The copyright belongs to you. MP is like a storage shed that stores your stuff. The stuff inside is yours but you have to pay to access it.
Creative Commons Rights? YairYepez 3 5 yearsccctucker (154): This was brought up on another forum, these scans give "bad guys" a map of the house, to include where expensive items can be located. I think what they want to advertise they have would be no different than if panoramics were taken and advertised online.
