Landscape CAD Tette99 12 19 daysHelloPado (88): Im biased toward Pix4D because of its overall service and quality of output deliverables. I've used drone Deploy also. Either are suitable for your application. Although... neither will be beneficial for surveying terrain because you're working with what looks like a level lot. For kicks and giggles... will you give me the address and let me see what i can find.
What CAD file types can be converted to .OBJ ...? DanSmigrod 4 3 monthsneeravbm (43): BIM is the same as intelligent BIM. There is no difference. By definition, BIM is supposed to be intelligent. :) BIM is very different from OBJ file though. OBJ file has a bunch of triangles that are used for rendering geometry on screen but there is no way to know whether a triangle belongs to a wall or a pipe, as an example. Hence OBJ file is not intelligent. BIM, on the other hand, is parametric. If you add a wall, it will add a wall object...
Download Matterport 3D Scan? APN 2 3 monthsDanSmigrod (16915): @APN The architects likely want Matterport MatterPak: it's the data that they can use in their CAD programs. If they want the 3D Tour offline; no, Matterport has not budged on this point. CUPIX offers download everything; including a player for a local computer. To best answer your question, what would the architects like to use the 3D Tour and/or data from the 3D tour. Best, Dan
Matterport alternative for large-scale factory assembly line installations? DanSmigrod 12 4 monthsscott_cupix (220): Yes you can have photos at various heights and they will be processed together. Upload a variety of photos at 4', 12', 25' all together and they will be processed together.

What is a FBX Model? Property3dNZ 6 10 monthsProperty3dNZ (610): Thanks for all your help! I really appreciate it
Convert Matterport to AutoCAD Chemistrydoc 5 1 yearMontreal3D (184): In most cases this work is done by simply tracing over point clouds. There are many advantages of using the point cloud over the OBJ or FBX model. You also have to keep in mind making floor plans require a different scan pattern since you are aiming for accuracy and not for visual walktrough. I've done quite a few scans for AEC in the last few months (150K sqft) and I keep learning how to maximize the use of the Matterport for use in engineering...
Introducing the vCAD 2.0 Mobile App JonHuber 3 1 yearJonHuber (25): Hello. Thank you for being one of the first to try it out. The first time you open a web browser, there is a one-time download of 50 MB. After that, things are much faster. Also, just for thoroughness, it's best to use Chrome, Firefox, Safari, ... anything but Internet Explorer. Edge does work, but I just don't trust it. I hope this helps. -Jon

Pre order new Matterport Pro2 Camera? DannyBasting Jump to first page73Jump to last page 2 yearsDannyBasting (1171): @Queen_City_3D you can use just one account. It doesn't matter what camera you are using, you just need to be logged in to the account where you want the model to be hosted when you upload it. Unless you want to work with a sepparate account for a big client that wants to cover his own monthly fee and conversion costs, I don't realy see the benefit in getting multiple accounts.
