| Hi All, I'd like to share some clarity on this. VR Listing (http://www.vrlisting.com/), a Canadian MSP, had an amazing opportunity to scan the Krispy Kreme sets used in the Power Rangers movie. After seeing MatterPlus, an experimental events-based platform for Matterport that I created, they discovered that they could embed videos and photos into the tour. They presented a full proof-of-concept to Krispy Kreme and Lion's Gate -- who loved it! As MatterPlus is an experiment that may not be suitable for commercial purposes, the team approached MatterPort to see if they could get it approved. I was shocked to see the final product as Matterport took the proof-of-concept and built a special version of Showcase that add 'Rich Media Mattertags' for the client. It was a hit! Because of positive feedback internally and externally, Matterport moved 'Multimedia Mattertags' up to a top priority feature and were thrilled to announce it! MatterPlus utilized the MatterTag link and could embed images or YouTube videos. Images could be expanded and care was put into making sure that YouTube videos closed with the MatterTag. Matterport went the next mile by enhancing images, pausing videos when hidden, and fully embracing the Embed.ly platform to allow 100s of different things to be embedded! -- Now finally, as to the switch and the background sounds -- this is all thanks to how the web developers embedded the tours. The switch floats over the embed window and when clicked swaps both the image and the tour -- just a bit of Javascript and style sheets! The background music is embedded on the page that contains the <iframe>. Ross Peterson's excellent WP3D Models plugin uses similar techniques to embed a company logo. Imagine a switch instead! |
