Backing up iPad to make space4163

SpencerLasky private msg quote post Address this user
I have posted this once before - but in the interest of time, as in I have zero - and to fully understand because I will go back and read the older threads, so if you responded I will re-read that post and thanks - but just to dig in further I'm going to ask again.

I need to make space on the iPad - I can back up the iPad but how can I prove I can regain these scan models if I need to in the future - man I wish there was a way to store them in a folder on your home computer that was organized and you can move them back and forth, that is easy and organized. Is there?

Thanks
Spencer

Hey spencer

The only way is to backup and then use another Ipad and restore to that to confirm you can restore or simply have faith - I know I know

Next time buy a 128gb ipad pro they simple rock in everyway, the best investment we ever made and with 4g we can trim and mark and then it uploads on the way to the next job.

Nice to get back to the office and all the jobs processed already.

Ok being I'm on apple I think I read this back a bit - anyway one theory would be to back up iPad, then back up the computer with time machine - note the models/scans that are on that backup date - then delete from iPad as you want.

To gain a certain model some time in the future should you need to - you reverse the process - find the date in time machine that had that model in it - restore computer to that date, restore iPad from that date - and then you should have that model in your iPad - do the work you need to and then switch it all back to current date, computer goes back and restore iPad from current date on computer/time machine set up.

Make sense is this the theory for mac's and thus probably the same on pc's just different software?

But yes the iPad Pro 128 gig with cell connect for sure, that is coming. One good thing this week I bought a 525 gig SSD for my laptop - it's now amazingly fast - no need to upgrade the laptop! I'm good to shift more funds into iPad world. One bad thing this morning thanks to Nissan and yellow cabs, someone decided it would be smart to design a hinge for the back door in the shape of a knife - this arrow pointing thing was then mounted right at bumper height - so now I have a nice long scratch across the beautiful blue of my car's bumper just cause I had to slip into the only space left this morning - so that's not good. Who would design such a thing! And life in the big city marches on!
