The major problem with adding images to mattertags or something similar, And even adding videos inside 3D Tours is that when they are posted on the MLS as a compliant 3D tour, None of those features, images or videos are activated. Needless to say, the entire MLS system in the US is terrible at visual marketing.IMO, consumers and buyers are being shortchanged because of a lack of education on the part of the real estate community. Including big websites. Like homes.com and Most others that have zero prominence for floor plans or 3D tours. They don't understand the buyer! WE DO.

@GETMYVR

Is the rich media helpful for the real estate agent (or property seller) social media, email, etc.? (non-MLS uses)

@GETMYVR - Yes, all the extras are stripped out of MP tours along with any agent branding. Aggregation sites could only strip out the branding, but they strip everything, maybe because a clever agent could hide branding in Tags, links, etc. Or course, no agent would actually do that, would they? Simpler to just strip everything, branding, tags, Stories, everything.

Agree with you that the MLS system in the US, as well as aggregators (Zillow, Redfin, Realtor, Homes) all work to the detriment of virtual tours. NAR research has confirmed that BUYERS wish all listings included virtual tours or even just video tours, something beyond simple photos, but these media are poorly displayed.

Truthfully, this may be a reflection of agents' disinterest in providing rich media (ie, paying for it!) so why should platforms promote it? Redfin has done the most, including a tiny flag on their map view for each listing that includes extra media. It can mean a video, a Matterport, another style of vtour, but at least something extra. Zillow does the least, as it is hell-bent on discouraging any type of media other than their own (sorely lacking) "3D Home" style of tour. It's lacking in that 360 images cannot be enhanced to look great, you're stuck with whatever the camera plunks out initially. No flexibility to edit, all aerial panos, etc.

So the problem we face today is that although we can create incredible interactive tours, the platforms don't encourage these by displaying them prominently, even though research repeatedly confirms buyers want them. But let's remember, Buyers don't drive the system, Sellers do. Media will always be paid for by sellers, and it takes a savvy seller to connect the dots and provide what Buyers want. C'est la vie.

@Home3D I actually shoot locally for Redfin. Their basic package is photos, floor plans and Matterport, for all listings. They get it.
